Starts intermittently

I have a 97 Sunfire 2.2L manual transmission. I drove it then parked it and when i tried to start it again it just clicked. With the clutch pedal pressed in after a few tries it will start. I replaced the clutch swith and i thought it made it better but i still have to turn it over 3-4 times with the pedal down and it clicks before it starts. I dont think its the starter or relay. Maybe a broken wire grounding out in the steering column? Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
