Best modern heavy metal band

What's your opinion?

My vote is Disturbed but this is a weightless argument

As a musician, I really hate when somebody uses the term "best" when describing anything about music; best guitarist, best band, best singer, best drummer, etc. At least you did start the thread with "What's your opinion" because that all that "best" is, an opinion. "Favorite" would be a better word to use.

As far as my favorite goes, it changes almost daily. Right now I'm getting into Atreyu and Apocoliptica.

"Heavy Metal?" Hmmm....

I've always had a tough time separating "heavy metal" and "hard rock" along with a number of other rock sub-categories.

I'm going to throw Black Mountain out there as my latest discovery in this range.

Modern? as in what, still around making new music that's still kickass?
