I was trying to back out of a tight parking spot where i had to shift gears from reverse(R) to drive(D) a couple times. I noticed a clankin noise when I shifted gears. As I drove it and tested my gears..sometimes i would hear the clank and sometimes I wouldn't.....
any comments?????

What year? How many miles? When driving under what conditions did you hear this?

02 Chevy TB LT...84300 miles... and if you mean weather conditions, i believe it was dry (no rain).
I really dont hear every'single'time that i shift gears but i do hear it clank especially when i go into reverse like when Im parallel parking.
youthink it might be a problem w/ the transmission?

I would have the driveshaft "u' joints checked, mine does that slightly, which can be normal drive train free play tolerances, without hearing/feeling it I cannot really tell you if it is more than normal.
