2005 Ranger - No White Back Up Lights

I have no illuminated backup lights (white) when I put my 2005 Ranger in reverse. I checked the fuse and both bulbs and they all look OK. Is my problem the back up light switch? If so, is this switch mounted on the transmission and is it easy to get to and replace? How can I test to see if this switch is bad?
Thanks,

Your probably right in it being in the switch on the Tranmission. I personally don't know where its located. But I think you will probably need to post if its automatic or standard shift for someone to be able to tell you

My Ranger has a 5-speed manual transmission.

A repair manual should be able to tell you where the switch is located.
If you get it out to check it, don't think it's good just because it checks okay.
My son's car (Cavalier) had the same problem and the switch checked okay. However, it "seemed" hard to press and maybe that you had to push it pretty far back to get it to make contact. I bought another switch that made up pretty readily and solved the problem right away.

Thanks Denver. I'll give it a shot and replace it. It has to up near the top of the transmission near the 5-speed shifter.
