So, where I work is a mechanic whos friends with the company. Turns out they got a guy who knows the engine..
he simply looked at it, listened, looked at the codes, and put his hand on the engine, and said he knows what's wrong..
well guess what, he did! everything is all better now!
the check engine light is still on about knock sensor errors (the same i always had), and since it checks out and the car drives good, he feels the computer may have a faulty diagnosing circuit, but the ignition circuit is running properly.
either way, $420 for a whole fixup.

Nice, I kinda liked watching the video. It's like taking a ride in your car. One thing I really like about that area of Florida (well, most of the state actually) is you have those lit up street signs. The only state along the eastern coast that I know of that has those. Anyway, car sounds good!

Oh boy, my cars acting up again, though not so severe as before.
My computer and coil are next in line, as the coil is original, and the computer well, it's already a known bad part...
This morning, I start her up, and as soon as I pull into drive, bang, 1 backfire, and hesitation, but then kicks into action and peels right out. Only time it did that.
On the way home, with AC off, it felt "shaky" when at a red light. When AC was turned on, it felt slightly less shaky. (which is the complete opposite as it would have been before).

I did but its leaking from the steering box now, which i knew had to be replaced anyway but at the time it wasnt leaking thats why i put it off for a bit

Well see, now who's fault is that? :nono: What makes you say it was bad to begin with?
Oh and I'm sorry to hear your car's acting up again E-Drag.

hopefully it's just bad gas and/or computer malfunction...

could the initial acceleration be a faulty computer? It's essentially a new ignition system minus the coil, but the coil works because the power is there afterwards.
another oddity though is that after about 30 minutes of driving, it gets slightly weaker than when it first started, almost as if the timing is being retarded.

I was told that was the cause of the looseness in the steering, but being as how its leaking quick its gonna have to be replaced either way now

Well that depends where it's leaking from. It could just need new seals. I'm not familiar with what kind of seals it uses, or what's involved because I've never had one go bad on me before though.

Not to get off subject but a few weeks ago i was at a local restaurant and they were having an event called a "mustang roundup" pretty much all mustang drivers migrate to the restaurant's parking lot to show off their car, i wanna see a caprice round up though, both box and bubble types, i'd like it if i could get some locals around here to join in too, i would. even just a B-body roundup would be cool. just a thought

Cool! i've always wanted a go kart. It would be sweet to see how fast i could get the thing to go. Too bad those kind of things are illegal in my area...but that doesn't stop some people :evillol:
