Looking for a sporty looking 95+ sedan with some balls, preferably under $40k USD, what would you get?

Honda Accord + H22A VTEC is a good choice

VW Passat V6 isgood if you put in some harder springs

Audi A4 1.8 Turbo is another good choice

BMW 330i is my pick of them all though

Used E46 BMW 3 or 5 series. I've seen nice used 5 series going for around $28,000 at dealers here in Phoenix/Scottsdale. 3 series may be a bit more since they are more trendy than the 5's.

Or the new Benz hatchback...I think it's a C class. They go for under 40,000 fully loaded I believe. They are pretty sleek looking.

A 95-97 is. Extremely hard to find, only a few thousand imported. My gf's dad has one. 2.2 Turbo I-5 20V. The 258 lb/ft hit at 1950 rpm, and that car fucking flies!

I say go with a Volvo S60 T5
The new Saabs are tight too.

BMW just released a 330i with a performance package. 6 speed, 225 hp. that would be my pick.
other than that, Maxima's are fast and so are the new Altima's.
the Audi/VW 1.8T are zippy little cars too.

You might be able to get a M3 for around that price. Best looking 4 door out there.

Also wanted a M3 for the longest time, but for some reason that faded.

I'd get one of these;

Subaru Impreza WRX
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo
Nissan Altima(240-hp version)
Mercury Maurader
Any Roadmaster, Impala, Caprice with the lt1
Or a Mitsubishi Galant VR4(pretty rare & older than 95 so that's out)

Peace.:coolguy:

The E46 is Coupe or Convertible...........HOWEVER the E36 from the time it was conceived ('94 I think it was) was offered as a Sedan:D

An interesting side note, the 1st gen S4 (92 to 95) Had the same engine I listed before for the first gen S6, though its lighter than the S6. Factory quote was 0-60 in 6.5 but R&T (Maybe it was C&D) tested it at 5.5 seonds. These 1st gens are more of sleepers and are just as quick as the later twin turbo generation.

Yep! I knew a guyy who had a 97 M3 sedan. One of the best looking sport sedans ever IMO.

Meh, he can afford better than most these cars, except The EVO 8 right now has a dealer markup of 20 grand!!!!!!!! So they're selling for 50 grand US at the moment!

I wouldn't recommend the new altima just like I wouldn't recommend the new spec V. Stats look good on paper, but go drive one. I don't believe they would even skimp out on equal length driveaxles on these
