hello again.

i wanna make a declaration first before proceeding with the WIP post.
i'm building this ferrari based on an incomplete (yet again!) kit. so this build will be slow...so bear with me.

i start off with the display of whatever i have, as in the incomplete kit...

accuracy will not be a point here as i've used the 275 NART kit to build, so a wrong engine & interior.

at least the wheelbase & drivetrain are copied according to the usual 250GTs' setup. wheelbase stretch to the actual 2591mm on the real car.

this time the engine will NOT pose any fitting problem as of the nembo spyder. the fantuzzi body is broader to accomodate even the 275 engine. i scratchbuild a fuel tank located just before the rear suspension. as always, all white color parts are the places modified...

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z217/sbc3133r/fan5.jpg
because the 275 series sports the drivetrain located at the back rear axle as opposed to the 250 series where the drivetrain is directly coupled to the engine...i have to cut the rear axle & fused it into the engine. sorry, i have to cheat a little here.
hehe...but still it's a ferrari engine right!?

if this is too extreme a cheat to be called for...wait til you see my ferrari bertone 3000 mod, i'm using a BMW 507 as base!
yes, a ferrari with a BMW engine!?!? hahaha...

ok, talk to me if you have something doubtful...good or bad. it's so lonely talking to myself all the time!

As mentioned, with the compressor dead..that leaves me with only one alternative, that's keep on doing the dry works.
my apologies to those waiting to see a primed body, it just didn't work out right...

i'm trying to mod a spare-tire-turned compressor right now & see if it can work. but i'll have to pump it up til 300+ psi in order to last me for at least 1 spray session! danger...

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z217/sbc3133r/fan112.jpg
some work has been done to the inside, to those who wanna built the revell / italeri 275nart kit...be cautious of the very weak suspension arms! i've accidentally broke the front & back A-arms many times. seems the plastic is very brittle!

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z217/sbc3133r/fan113.jpg

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z217/sbc3133r/fan114.jpg
the overall shape is about there...i'm starting to do the opening doors since i've a 'live' sample from the nembo spyder as a guide, this time it would be easier to do. the side ventilating sills are done too...

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z217/sbc3133r/fan115.jpg

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z217/sbc3133r/fan116.jpg
another view from a different angle. the fantuzzi sports the same kinda of side markers as the GTO, abeit at different position. so i open up a small hole just beneath the headlights & now still figuring out how the fill the holes in such a way the signal assembly can rest on the hole...

i hope i can get some form of compressed air to do some priming...i felt a little discouraged on the compressor's death, just when i feel could stir up some enthusiasm builds on a sleepy day.

my apologies again...:uhoh:

It's coming along nicely!

As for the primer, as I already suggested, you can be nice and go buy a spray can primer! ;)
