99 Passport. Which way to turn caliper bolts?

I'm having trouble removing the rear caliper bolts on my 99 Passport. Now I'm wondering if I'm turning the ratchet in the right direction. If I'm looking at the front of the rear wheel, which way do I turn to loosen the caliper bolt? Counter or clock wise?

Thanks.

Since you say you are working from outside the vehicle - turn it clockwise to loosen.

The caliper guide and lock bolts are normal right-hand threads.

Unfortunately, these Isuzu bolts are notorious for seizing up due to the smooth bolt shafts rusting in the caliper sockets.

Lubrication of same should be included in your routine maintenance schedule - repeated frequently between pad changes. Regretably, Isuzu did not mention this in their schedule.
