I have never used one.
I woulkd Ask the parts store to tell you what company makes them.
If they are made by Airtex or Carter.
Do not even think about one.

AC-Delco/Delphi is the only good fuel pump I know of.
And you can buy them in the 300 dollar bracket.

The 150 dollars you save buying a Retech aftermarket fuel pump .
Could cost you 200 dollars in tow bill plus another 150-200 dollars replacing a bad aftermarket fuel pump.
And I have saw it happen 2-3 times on same car/truck.
I am working on a 01 chev S-10 4.3 V6 right now.
2 Airtex replacement fuel pumps quit on the road so far.
Last one did not last a weeki.
Down to 22 lbs fuel pressure.
2 flatbed tow bills and 2 checkouts bills so far.

They are a remanufactured OEM pump. They are made by Universal Mfg. Co. (http://www.universalmanf.com/). The parts store told me they have had absolutely no trouble with them, have not had any come back. It comes with a 1 yr. 12,000 mile warranty.

Thanks for the reply.

I seen it worse,6 pumps in one Chevy truck due to Carquest pumps before they switched to Delphi. The AC Delco/Delphi fuel pumps are the best

I ended up taking everyone's advice and went with the AC Delco pump. I got lucky and found a brand new one in the box on Ebay. An AC DELCO MU145 with the GFT stamped on the top to match my truck. It was $79.99 plus shipping. Cost me $103 shipped in. The dealer wanted over $400 for it.
