Hi all, just picked up a 2000wagon without the manual. Two questions: been reading a little and Is there a cabin filter for this car I took the glove box out and was looking under there, but nada. And secondly, To replace the rear spark plugs: It looks like the engine can be rotated forward but is this possible without disconnecting exhaust or removing other connected things besides air breather connection. Thanks to all for replies.

Both of these questions have been addressed previously on this forum. I assume you have the 24V DOHC Duratech engine, right?

Try using the "Search this forum" feature from the Taurus forum main page. As I don't remember both of these being addressed in a single post, you'll want to perform two searches, one for each of your questions.

Actually, you may find your cabin air filter (if equipped) while removing the windshield cowl to gain access to the rear plugs.

Thanks shorod, I had to ask about it too, but it has the 3.0 vulcan. It would have been the last place i'd look but i found the filter under there. It wasn't too bad, lot of leaves and crap so I banged it and vacuumed it good and sprayed some lysol thru it and put it all back in. As for the spark plugs, removing all that cowl may give just enough clearance to get hands down there. I'd hate to take that filter back out, but plugs look original with 120k. Thanks again.

Yeah, I don't remember the rear plugs being all that bad (for normal sized arms, if there is such a thing) on the Vulcan. The Duratech and SHO is a different story though.
