Tracker overheat issues! please help!!!

Ok i bought this 92 tracker, auto and now it has a overheat problem. the guy we bought it off of had the heads replaced (and of course didn't tell us it had a overheat problem). well we have since buying it have put a new radiator, new water pump, new thermo, and complete tune up! IT STILL OVER HEATS!:banghead: My boss told me to use some block sealer, but i have never used one before...does anyone have some advise or product info??? Thanks

Having done pretty much the same thing for a 96 4X4 tracker, make sure the car is actually getting too hot - some of the replacement sensors seem to show things quite a lot hotter than they are. A cooking themomoter sitting on the intake near the thermostat engine running and hood down should make a lying gauge obvious. Second some trackers have both an electric fan and a thermostatic fan clutch - check both if you have them - mine failed in funky ways which are difficult to accurately diagnose. They also seem to both be necessary in certain situations. If you replaced the fan switch sensor be aware that few parts guys actually have the right one. A good one will not turn the fan on until the engine is warm, but the wrong one will run the fan as the engine warms up then turn it off when it is hot. The only place I can find the good one is from one of the add on fan kits co's. The GOOD autoparts stores all seem to have the wrong switch for this. The part the stores give you for this is actually the gauge sensor. I think there is a way to do a resister bridge, and maybe add a relay to make it work, but it does not work like the EOM part.

with the tracker cooled off. Take off the radiator cap start the motor and rev the motor a bit. If the coolant pulsates or rises up and down whoever did the headgasket messed it up and it needs redone.

do you feel loss of power?? is the car smoking, or is it only the indicator reading hot?? If so it may not be overheating it could be the thermostat..replace it.....

Try running the engine with the thermostat out. Also check belt tightening on the alternator-water pump. Either one could cause coolant to be pushed back into the radiator coolant bottle.
