Using 2 throttle bodys?

This might be a dumb question, but i could not find anything about it. I was wondering if it would work to have 2 throttle bodys on a custom made smim to work in a dsm?

Only way to have 2 would be to have 2 intake manifolds. 1 IM per 2 runners. Pointless on our motors I believe.

would it hurt performance? or be a gain?
I am looking for a way to not have the big stock intake and have somthing that looks cool, and different but not hurt performance any.

If you got a Non turbo car you could run individual throttle bodies. One per cylinder. You'd be rockin like da honda kats.

Its turbo, I seen that on a honda and it gave me the idea.

Why would you want to do it in the first place? Sounds like an aweful lot of work and I cant see any reason it would help.

if you want to get rid of the big stock intake stuff you could look into a MAF-T setup .. it will get rid of all that bulky factory stuff..allow you to vent into the atmostphere without any side effects... and you could use it to accomodate for larger injectors and some tuning if your not already using soemthing else..

I believe the 4g63 motor can get like a 75mm TB. Thats plenty big enough for anything you would be running.

you can also use a 90mm throtle body from a 90 year model infinity q45..might have to open up the opening on the intake manifold though...

Unless you are running a SMIM a new TB is pretty much wasted effort IMO, and once you need to upgrade a 75mm should be more than enough to do the trick. Also, the MAFT is nightmare to tune around, after reading some of the things I have I would never run one. DSMlink V3 will have speed density controls so if/when I push the limits on the 2g MAF I will just switch to speed density.

If you use 90mm throttle body (TB) opening on th intake manifold then can use but be caution it might be safe to drive it but you will probably experience a decrease in gas mileage and lowered performance. The fuel injectors are quite a ways from the tb. If anything is damaged, it may be the throttle body position sensor, check and replace that first, if you use 2 TB.

Pointless.
Also, the MAFT is nightmare to tune around, after reading some of the things I have I would never run one. It is tricky, but I'm getting there. :p
FWIW, this car was sold to me with the MAFT and pulled like a TRAIN. Once you dial it in (done by previous owner coding in hex with an EEPROM) issues are few and far between.

Really? I had heard that people would continue to calibrate and recalibrate the GM MAF all the time.
