Could a 4t60e out of a 95 Grand Am replace the 4t60e in my 97 Grand Prix SE 3800?

I "think" it will be OK, but you have to realize, that 95 tranny is probably not muh better than your 97. Lets see what Bob and Rich say.

Wait a minute.... Are you sure the grand am has a 4t60e? I though they had 4t40e's???? Better make sure before you buy it.

I can get a trans from a salvage yard that I know will fit for $300 and a 90 day warrenty or one out of a 95Grand Am for $75 and cross your fingers.

300 bucks! thats a big "oh shit" if you go through all the work putting in the 75.00 one only to find out it slips from 1st to 2nd.
Been there, done that!
