Hello new to the forums here... First of all I am not new to these SHO's... I have had to Gen 2's in the past along with 2 Gen 1's... I also have a Gen 3...
I bought this car thinking that it needed a fuel pump, which turned into a total nightmare, resulting in a new fuel tank as well... After installing the tank and the Fuel Pump, i still couldn't get the car to start. (No, the fuel pump is not coming on / or '' priming''...) After that i heard that the fuel pump relay was built into the CCRM, so i went and bought a New One... Guess What??? STILL WON'T START!!! I'm thinking maybe its the computer, because the check engine light does not even come on when you turn they key on... (The car does have 215,000 miles on it, so it may just be a coincidence that maybe the bulb is burnt out...) My fuel gauge DOES work.
I also tried starting the car with starting fluid, and that didn't do much good eithor... It really didn't make a difference... Maybe a couple 'coughs' and thats it...
I am starting to get very frustrated and just want to get this thing running, so i hope someone can help me! THANKS!!!

Welcome to the forum!
Let's start with the basics. Have you verified that the fuel pump inertia switch is not tripped? Have you verified voltage is getting to the fuel pump (or at least to and through the inertia switch)? Have you checked for fuel pump relay coil drive from the PCM at the CCRM? I have posted the path to a schematic of the CCRM before, you can use the "Search this forum" feature from the Taurus forum main page to find the path. Have you checked for spark to the spark plugs?
Is it an auto or manual transmission? If auto, which PCM does it have? I might have a spare PCM that I know works as well as an ignition module (untested) that I'd be willing to sell you for a good price.

Thanks for your reply to my thread on the 1993
SHO that won't start... (New Fuel Pump and CCRM)
Okay, i know that the inertia switch isn't tripped... I have tested for power back there and i don't have any... It is a 3.2 Auto... How do i know which computer is in it? I hope you can help! I just want to get it running... The fuel gauge does work, which puzzles me... I'm thinking ignition module or computer... Thanks, again! eritchie07

There is a bold 4-digit code on the PCM, but I don't remember if it is visible from the open glove box or if you need to remove it. The code will be something like H3Z1.
Have you tried pulling diagnostic codes from the PCM? If the PCM is shot, you should find that you are unable to get the diagnostic codes, or you'll get codes that don't mean anything.
For what it's worth, the PCM also gets power from a relay internal to the CCRM. I'd suggest you spend some time with the wiring diagram of the CCRM and a voltmeter seeing if you are getting the correct voltages. There have been others that had problems with grounds to the CCRM.

well i tried pulling codes from PCM, but the Check Engine light on cluster doesn't work... I also tried "jumping" the fuel pump by using the Diagnostic connector and had no luck...

You can use an analog voltmeter to pull the diagnostic codes without the check engine light.

I read on the net how to do that, which i did about a month ago and if i remember right i didn't get a response... I'm thinking about maybe taking it to a shop but don't know whether to take it to FORD or a private shop... Just really want to get the thing running without replacing any unnecessary parts.
Thanks for all of your help so far! Let me know if you think of any other ideas...

I take it this means you're not comfortable grabbing a multimeter and checking for critical voltages at the CCRM? Checking to see if power is coming out of the PCM relay pin to power up the PCM could tell you a lot, along with measuring some of the trigger voltages for other relays within the CCRM.

I guess i could do this if i know what i was doing... I'm no good with electrical stuff

Do you have resources to someone that is? You've already tried shotgunning the logical stuff. To save some money, frustration and time, checking the circuit for proper operation would be a good next route.

okay so i had someone help me to some testing and we found that the CCRM box had power going in but none going out. (to fuel pump) also, if i remember correctly, on of the grounds on the plug wasn't working eithor (pin 14 or 15???) can't remember... Maybe this will help... THANK YOU

Yeah, if you have power to the CCRM and the proper relay triggers, but no voltage output from the CCRM, missing grounds could be the cause. Ground is needed to complete the relay coil circuits. Without grounds (for some of the relays) the relay will not close and provide power to the secondary circuits.
