Miami area scene?

how is it down that way? i think i may be down there in about 4 months, but i think i'm going to try to live a bit north of it... like in ft. Lauderdale... and commute down to Coral Gables to the Biltmore Hotel... hopefully, need to make sure i get the job, but its sounding really positive right now :D
