better mpg solutions

gettin a lifted 04 silverado z71 and i planed on a chip and a cold air intake and i was thinking about maybe a supercharger to but i dont know how much of a diffrence also if you guys got any suggestions thanks im not to worryed about it just thought it give me something to do

that is the shocker its not all that hard to do. Butanol, methanol, methane, gas to liquid, do a search with the terms and you will find all kinds of info on how to do it.

reduce vehicle height....no cold air intakes....no supercharger/chips....all these items reduce mpg....you will get slightly more power and response...out of engine....though...

What about that water for gas kit I keep hearing about what's up with that? Last time I searched for it all I found was some guys ebook you had to buy. Is that a legitimate thing and where can I find out more info?
It's crazy what people are coming up with tho for alternate fuels.

about the only mod that can change fuel consumption down is reducing engine performance. before you post otherwise, please, provide factitious proof. and then, all of the power tuners in the world will elect you a king, as that was their dream since day one of tuning - more power without increased fuel consumption.

Not ALL power mods will increase fuel cosumption. Look in the other post/poll where one guy actually has seen a 2-3 mpg gain with a PCM tune. these devices are scams....they will not increase MPG......If you believe more power with greater MPG by installing this equitment you are a sucker to waste your money on this nonsense......Or you are a seller of these devices.....trying to convince vehicle owners that they work....just like the water trick....another scam.....

Custom tunes are not "devices" but rather the reprogramming of your vehicles computer. In most cases car manufactures will program the vehicle to run on the rich side to help control Nox emissions, so a re-programmer will lean the mixture out some which will increase power and increase MPG.

so you actually believe that "SOME PROGRAMMER" is more knowledgeable about this vehicle than GM....that leaning the mixture will increase mpg and increase power....I disagree ....
if you sent your vehicle to a programmer and the vehicle was tuned to a dyno then maybe it would /could be adjusted to give at best a factionally increased mpg...but I doubt anyone would be willing to pay the price....

the hho, or browns gas, is a joke. you will not get better gas milage by pumping hydrogen in to your carb intake. if you could add it into the fuel stream you would see a gane in mpg. that is the kicker. oil, and gasoline becomes explosive when added to strate o2. that is why when i was working in a parmicy i had to have two tool sets. my o2 set was locked at all times. if i had to work on a o2 tank i had to have clean hydrocarbon free tools. or i could of sent the shop up in a ball of flames. .
now look at how much hydrogen and o2 the system puts out. its about a cup full a hour. sounds like a lot. but your truck at idle will burn that in a few seconds. if you want to realy put o2 in to the system. there is a cheep way to do it. with out putting the hydrogen in. get a battery operated o2 contrator. you will also need a o2 tester. pure o2 will couse any oil, grease or fuel to burn with out a spark. instant flame. you will need to detune the system to put out 10 % o2. maby less. it would take some time with a tail pipe anolizer to figer out if your getting a good burn. your doing the same thing that the goverment did with mtbe and ethanol. only with a machine that is made to take the nightrogen out of the air.
some mods that will get you some added mpg's. larger oil pan, oil and trany coolers. adding electric fans. getting rid of weight on the truck. keeping your tires aired up. depending on the modle of your truck changing intake can make a very big diffrence.
my old truck had a 4 bbl and got 20 to 22 mpg. it was a 1985 chevy full size. i changed intake manafold to a elderbrock high rise. got rid of the air pump, and cats. added trany and oil coolers, larger oil pan. the thing took a long time to warm up in the winter but it was worth it. added a second air intake to the air filter. the thing could breath just fine. changed oil and air filter at every 3k miles. i did not do much city driving, put 100 miles on it every day so it was oil change every 5 weeks. one of the guys at the quick lube place would put my old air filter on his truck. he said mine were never durty. i showed him a thing or two. light will pass in fiber glass but it will be cloged. the hold your filter to a truble light trick is a good joke.
with this truck, the first time i go to clean the carb i will be adding the carb spacer. if i can come up with two more air intakes i will mod mine to the two intake system. just need to find the room.

I just saw a clip from some news station that was posted on Yahoo wher a guy driving an Avalanche was claiming mileage of 25 around town 40 on the hiway.
It's intrigued me enough to look into it. One of the drawbacks is that only two of the units can be run in the winter (using ww antifreeze). The unit that is supposed to be only recharged once a month won't work with WWAF.
