I have looked everywhere and cant seem to find any other issues with this.
I have a 2007 Grand Prix GXP. I have been having the same issue over and over again, it is some crazy electrical problem.
When we are driving the car, and this only happens randomly, the entire electrical system will shut off and then back on again for no apparant reason. Every once in a while it will do it for long enough so the engine will start to sputter and come back on. Usually it will happen over and over again when we drive it.. But then wont happen again for weeks. It has been in teh shop 4 times and no one can duplicate the issue. The engine as even cut off on me going 75 on the highway adn the steeringwheel LOCKED like the car was off. Every so often the car will shut down and lock itself when i turn off the key and upon opening the door the alarm sounds.. it is the strangest thing. My wife drives the car to and from work and i dont want it shutting of on her and then leading her into a wall. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be?
When it shuts off the ABS/Trac Control, dash, radio, all lights, EVERYTHING resets.
2007 Grand Prix GXP
Navigation with the Mansoon system if that is of any help
5300 V8
Installed RamAir (K&N), Borla Cat back, TB spacer.... would not think any of those would effect my electrical system however (all installed by Dealer)
I have checked the fuses, battery, fuel system. it is just some electrical issue going on. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sounds to me like MAYBE its in the ignition switch in the steering column? Faulty wiring relating to it in that area?

that is what i originally thought too. Dealer looked at all the wires in the colum and teh Ig. switch... all good.
Funny thing.... When it rains, it will always have electrical issues :banghead:

This car is still in warranty. What you describe is a very unsafe condition which should you through the dealer to FIX IT! It's hard to believe a GM dealer would release this car for you to drive with this kind of malfunction. No matter how capable you may be electrically or mechanically, your chances of correcting this problem are slim compared to a Pontiac Dealer.

X2 on what bocoogto wrote. This car shouldn't even be driven at all especially on the expressway. Assuming it's still under warranty it should be at your local GM dealership until it's diagnosed and corrected.

Thats what you would think. Pontiac just called me on friday, and they could not duplicate the issue again, so come pick it up... They even told me they had a rep from GM come drive it and test it an .. nothing.
Guess what happened this morning as I was driving it. Bah, so dissapointed in Pontiac right now i thinking of buying a honda.

Never seems to fail. "Murphy's Law" on trying to get the problem to rear itself when needed...

Tell the dealership to let their top mechanic drive it home for a day, a week, whatever it takes - he'll get to know what is wrong real fast.
