Hihi, y first post here...
If I want I can buy a 1998 Lincoln Town Car (Signature Series)
white and swimmingpool-green (Miami Vice look car) for $1000.
The problem is the engine is out... the stamps went out of the block or something like that.
Here in Iceland there are only 10-15 other cars like this but someone told me I can get a engine from Ford if it is V8 and other people say: "forget this, nothing but trouble and this car will never drive again"
What should I do? - is this just trouble?

Hello
Buying a car with major parts already removed always presents some problems. It really depends how good of a mechanic you are. I only work on the total basket cases, so I would do it.
If you buy, try to get as many parts as you can including the engine if possible. See if they will take less money, a thousand seems a bit high in the current condition. Be prepared to put a fair amount of money back into the car as well. Below is the Hollander cross reference information on the engine. Good luck
CROWN VICTORIA 98-99 (8-280, 4.6L), gasoline (VIN W, Romeo), exc. Police pkg
GRAND MARQUIS 98-99 (8-280, 4.6L, VIN W)
LINCOLN & TOWN CAR 98-99 (8-280, 4.6L, VIN W)

If the engine is out,it's worth maybe $500.
CAUTION - IF you are not doing the repairs yourself, the car is worth Nothing.
