Pedal sticking

Hi. Just bought a 2006 Laguna and the accelerator pedal seems to stick now and again, which causes the car to speed up. Only when I clutch and brake does the accelerator go back to it's normal position. Has anybody encountered this problem before? Any advice would be gratefully received.
