Noise from trunk

I have just purchased a 94 jetta and I have several questions. I will start easy I here a sound from the trunk when I unlock the door, then goes away, what is it. Thanks for the help and the beginning of a car dork..

Your seals on your door are probably really good and you create a bit of a vacuum when you open it. Check to make sure the weather stripping around the trunk is intact and if so, adjust the catch so that it holds the trunk down tighter.
