FYI, all the Miata hardtops are the same, I've got a 1996 hardtop on my 1999, I know I had been told that they were somehow different when I was looking for my hardtop, but I was able to test fit it, and it works fine.

Hi :)
I recently also was looking for a Miata hardtop. I gave it some thought,
and came up with a simple and cheap solution.
PVC (plastic pipe) is cheap and available from your local Home Depot, Lowe's or other plumbing supply warehouse. Avoid regular plumbing stores, as their prices will be higher than the home discount box stores.
OK...buy 2" schedule 40 pipe, in 10' lengths. (I'd buy 4 lengths, which will cost you about $28.00. Next, purchase a lg. can of cleaner, pipe cement, and have the salesman pick out the elbows you will need to put together this simple and sturdy stand. Then go to rug area, and buy a remnant or small pile rug or other soft material to cover the ends of the
stand that will come in contact with the roof.
Make a small drawing, or have a friend help you do the drawing. Its not that hard, and it should only cost you about 85.00 when done.
Good luck!

Yeah, I would suggest ebay or making your own.
