Power Drive won't turn off!

I have a 2001 Trooper with about 118K miles on it. It has had an assortment of issues over the years. But today it decided to turn the power drive on and it won't turn off. Doesn't matter how many times I push the switch/button. Is there anyway I can permenently disengage this feature?

Any help would be great!
