i have a 200 gp gtp and it hits 124 or 127 downhill and cuts out while accelerating as to tell me theres much more to give, how do i over ride the eco ? 127 isnt fast enough for me, i wanna red line the top gear, how do i go about thhis, im told i have to reprogram the pcm, where can i have this done? iv gotten my work van a 2006 caravan to 115, which means as slow as it is it can almost keep up with my gtp which is sad to say the least. how do i lose the governer in the gp? my buick gn which is less safe at high speeds although much faster will not cut out , thats what im looking for. any help in fixing this glitch i appreciate

I don't recommend you redline the car but if you insist, you will need to have the PCM reprogrammed to removed the limiter. It is an electronic setting and is easily overidden by someone with either a programmer or you can send the PCM to DHP and they will do it for you. They can also reprogram shift points, fan turn on temp and a host of other items for you. Be sure to tell them what mods you have on your car when you send it to them. Cost is $99 plus a core charge.

I hate to sound like an ass but dude...I pray for your sake and someone elses that you dont kill someone or yourself doing that speed on the highways. What if someones mom and dad were driving home and you hit them doing that speed if not faster? I know not everyone on here is my age but show a bit of maturity and try to keep the speeds down on public roads. My neice who was 13 was killed by someone "topping" their car out on the highway. Go to the track if you want to speed like that. I mean if someone is doing 80-90 I wont bitch but come on man 127???? what in good gods name do you need to go that fast for? your gonna kill someone one of these days and you will see why I am saying something. Ps, I dont think that we should be telling this kid how to do it either, I have seen to many people die due to stuff like this and if I could get you to realize and think twice before you do it then this post is worth it. Be safe and have a great 4th of July week everyone. ~Joe

I hope the OP will read this and pay close attention. We recently had several fatalities in the Atlanta area caused by this same stupidity! Most recent accident was caused by a hoped-up Acura (rice burner) doing in excess of 100 mph changing lanes like a mad man, when he finally tagged the front end of an SUV while darting back & forth between lanes. The SUV had a family of five with a hired driver, transporting then home from the airport after returning from a family vacation. After the contact, the SUV was thrown into a spin and tumbled over & over six times. Only the father is still alive, and he is suffering from permanent brain damage and will require medical attention the rest of his life. The sad part is, three of the occupants of the SUV were children between the ages of 3 & 14. The reckless driver of the Acura, is in jail (where he should be) without bond, facing multiple charges of vehicular homicide. As suggested, if you want to do 125+ mph, do it on a race track, (if you think you can handle it), if you can't handle it, hopefully the only one killed, would be you! :uhoh:

I agree with the moral and legal issues doing excessive speed but that is an issue with the OP, law enforcement and his maker. Since this is an informational tech forum and when a member asks how to remove the speed limiter it is totally appropriate to provide such advice or guidance. Many of us have re-programmed PCM modules and from your mods list so do you. No speed limiter. The same argument can be applied to guns. It is not the car but the idiot behind the wheel.
I'm surprised you can do those speeds in the State of New Jersey or anywheres in the Northeast especially with all the traffic congestion, toll roads and the State Troopers.

yes Bob true, I have a zzp pcm. Fact is though im not driving 127mph plus with it, and either are most people on here with them. Now I agree on the fact that its a tech forum and all but if I was a mod on the NRA forum and a guy came on asking how he can get his m-203 to pump out a million rounds a second so he could blast rounds off in the air and risk the life of my family or yours or anyone elses I probably wouldnt tell him.
I understand where your coming from but not everyone is responsible as we all might be, you will always find one or two people abusing the speed of their car to endanger the life of others. To be honest I expected a bit more of a response on this other than me and Hotz28. Guess I expect to much out of this site sometimes. Anyways have fun driving 127+...just dont do it around my town bro
