keyless remote for a 96?

These (http://www.originalkeyless.com/category.sc?categoryId=23) folks have 3 diff ones both for 97 & 8.

Can they be used or need to stick to 96? (mine's a 2 button)

You can still get either the 2 Button for $20ish and the 3 Button for $30ish from GM.... $81 is highway robbery

Thought I read a thread here where someone said the dealer price was $$$ so hadn't considered it.

They want 90(door locks) & 120(+ side door) bucks here. Parts guy said then service $$$ can program them. Pretty sure I read here that programing can be done without them.

I'd like to buy a few ..somehow at 20$ if available?

I just purchased a brand new 3 Button remote for my 95 TS.... 3rd button being the power slider... The part number was still good and I think it was a total of $45-$46 to my door from GM Parts Direct... I ordered a few other items as well...

I refuse to pay the $50+shipping, and $69+ shipping I have seen on EBAY... I was lucky once to get a remote for $14 and that was 6 or 7 months ago...

Almost forgot.... Programing is very easy, but the Program button on the Receiver tucked above and to the left of the glove box is a little hard to get to...LOL

I have to program my new remote soon... I'm sure I can do a tutorial of sorts with pics if you'd like..

If you can read the part number off the back of the remote, plug it into GM Parts Direct and see what the price is.... I think it was $20ish for the remote you are looking for... So each would run you about $30 to your door...

Tried the above #s but nothing came up on a parts search. I'll get a parts# from the dealer & update.

While I was at the dealer, priced a power window regulator & motor assy ..700 bucks+

Changing out a window (plastic) guide first (lower left corner from inside the van) that looks to me has way to much play & might be partly broken (20$).

Decided to try this (http://www.keylessride.com/order/quote.asp?lbfix=yes&make=Pontiac&remoteyear=1996&model=Trans+Sport&frid=82B60CD9) one out (44 bucks). Ship in the States is 6 bucks, international is 12 (both for the first item).

Instructions look pretty straghtforward, pix shows the receaver underneath the dashcover pax side.

Had a quick look from the bottom of the glovebox (looked esiest) but ..basically need to get at the receaver. Anyone know the way:1zhelp:
