I've emailed the guy to get some more details and he said that his turn over on the ecus is about a day so from sending it out, to getting it back will take about a week.

i looked into that too but why not save up another $400 and get the power of DSMlink?

That's why I haven't purchased it yet because I was also looking into a datalogger and if you add them both up then the price is getting closer and closer to the same price as DSM link. So I thought alot about this today and I'm pretty sure that's the route I'm going to go. Also, how involved is the link installation? What is all needed to make it happen? I won't have the money for quite some time but I do want all the details so i know what I'm getting into.

plug in db9 serial adapter to obd port
plug in db9 to usb adapter to computer

clutch cut is simply splicing two wires too.

dont forget splicing the wideband into the ECU which you should have but isnt technically necessary but yes it is very easy took me 15 mins to do all of that including loading the software lol

Just save up for DSMlink yo. Sure the DSMchips deal is cheaper, but you have no tuning capability, so whats even the point? I know some people will use some sort of aftermarket EPROM deal with a SAFC and logger, but by then you could have just gotten DSMlink and you'd have something so much more powerful.

I socketed my own ECU which took like 2 hours including trouble troubleshooting (didnt get two pins soldered all the way) but if you have them socket it (I'd suggest that, if I were to do it again I would have just coughed up an extra $40 to have them do it) it'll take like 10 seconds plus the 15 minutes or so to do the clutch cut wire. I dont have enough good things to say about Thomas from DSMlink, plus the support it awesome.

600 dollars is a lot to cough up so it will be a while before i can afford it...but some time I will rise up to the challenge.
