My ac compressor is making a wierd ticking/ cricket like annoying noise, but it still works. I never use my ac so i want to bypass it. I was told i need to get an ac bypass pulley and install it where my existing ac compressor sits now. My question is is there anything special i need to do to remove the ac compressor such as relieving the pressure in it or a special tool i need, or do i just take the bolts off and remove it? Also i heard that a dorman ac bypass pulley is the one to get is that true and where can i find one? When i install this new bypass pulley i can still use my same serpentine belt right? I have a 2000 blazer 4 door 4.3 v-6. I would appreciate your help....thanks

Check your local parts places for ones that carry the dorman line.
You should be able to leave the old compresser on there even if you have to remove front clutch.
Bleeding it off is a little illegal.
Remember EPA rules and regulations.
I am sure you will need a new belt or it may come with the kit.
And do not forget to read the installation instructions.
Good luck

when you install a bypass pulley it has to go where the compressor is now. You can usually get them from the dealer as it is the part installed at the factory for a non A/C vehicle. Any qualified A/C repair center will have a reclaimer and be able to drain the system for you.
