After new tb, pulleys, tensioner, water pump, thermostat, belts... a day later my alt went out. Had a lifetime warranty on the beck-arnley I bought at Kragen 2 1/2 years ago. By the way, what i heard is that b-a's are really hitachis which are the oem's..anyone heard different/same? Anyway back to the nightmare. Ordered replacement alt Wed; Thr of Fri the wrong brand came in, Sat the B-A came in and failed bench test before i put it on (I had them bench it since a failed one came in years ago. Then Tues another alt came in, wrong brand again, then Thur another b-a which again failed the bench again. Demanded and got (after dealing with mngr and district mngr) my money back from 2.5 years ago $271 (the alt, core charge, tax). Turns out there is power source only a few blocks away from me and got me a 70 amp instead of 60 (same price though), new ,not rebuilt, hitachi for 130 bucks (no core either). The 70 amp did have a 6 instead of 4 groove pulley but its been good for the last 5 days, let you know if that changes.. I also did have to hammer the sleeve in a bit further but no biggie. Quality power www.qualitypowerauto.com (http://www.qualitypowerauto.com) is the name of the shop, Ron from there said what doesnt show on his web, he can order (like mine). Take care all
