96 f250 intrument cluster questions

i am wondering what kind of problems i might run into if i was to change my intrument cluster for one that has a tach in it. mainly is there another plug in the harness that i might not have on mine and will the odometer register the same as mine or whatever it registered on the other truck. any help will be greatly appreciated.

I changed mine to one with a tach on my 92 f150, wiring is already there for the tach, all gauges work correctly. I have one problem though, my check engine light trips on after it runs for about 2 minutes. i dont know why it does it I even asked the forum and didnt get a response. scanned it and doo not have any codes. It's a very simple fix though! When you install the replacement cluster just pull out the bulb for the check engine light. You have to take the 2 clusters apart and swap your speedometer into the cluster you are going to use to retain your correct mileage. Very simple to do. If you need a cluster w/ tach for yours, let me know I originally purchased the one that fits your truck by mistake, so I have an extra one sitting here on the shelf.
