GA_googleFillSlot("Forums_ROS_300x250_noad");here is the symtoms my friend said he was going down the road and the truck started to sputter like it was running out of gas but the gas gauge said it had a 1/4 of a tank so he started to pull of to the side of the road and as he got to the shoulder it shut off he no power to nething. he waited a couple of secounds and it fired right back up and he brought it to my house i put the scanner on it and it gave me code 83. in the scanners book code 83-Torque converter Clutch (TCC) Solenoid-circuit problems. OR Reverse Inhibit-open or short circuit in reverse inhibit soleniod coil. NE suggestions? dont really want to do sumthing and hav stuff apart and it b sumthing else bc he needs the truck back asap for work.:eek7:

What engine and transmission?
Code 83 is not the engine running problem.
Is it just a one time thing or has it been acting up?
Any hard to start cold?

Check fuel pressure and secandary ign.
And run a complete fuel pressure check.
Leave the gauge on it and drive on the road for 30 minutes or untill it acts up.
You may have to catch it in the act and then test fuel pressure and for good hot blue spark to all plugs.
Post back your fuel pressure readings.

IIRC, the '94s still had fusible links. I'd be looking into that, grounds, and any other major electrical connections.

Clear the code.
Code 83 for that year and make is TCC circuit on a 4l60e auto trans,
And see if anything comes back.

Check fuel filter and fuel pressure for up to specs.
Check all secandary ing. stuff for good hot blue spark.
Give the old pcm a good tap/twist test.
Good Luck
