I have a 1996 Grand Caravan. Lately, I have been getting a real strong odor of burning wires coming from the A/c inside the van. When I run the A/C??? Its getting progresively worse. I'm worried about the van catching on fire. Can someone please give some advice. Thanks :frown:

If you can smell it with just the blower fan on and the A/C off I would suspect the blower motor is drawing too much current and overheating. If you smell it only when the A/C is on I would suspect the climate control panel. Remove it and inspect the connections on the back.

many caravans have this problem and if you let it go your guages and spedo etc wont work. take out the 4 screws that hold on the a/c stuff and unplug it and inspect for a burnt terminal I JUST did one 5 min ago. Clean it up and plug back in or get one from the junkyard.

Yes they are on the control panel behind the black plastic bezel that surrounds the panel.
