cruse control problem?

My cruse control has quit working on my 94, the instrument panel light up that it is on but doest work.. does anyone know of any common problems with these. Is there and easy fix or something to check first. where is the unit located?

I'd begin with the fuses, breakers, and relays. It's cable controlled, connected to the Throttle Body.. follow the cable back to the control box. An inspection there would be worth while too.
