Next Track Event

G8rbob and I are going to VIR With Chin Motorsports July 2&3. Hope to see some more of our group there. G;-)

Here is one pic we have as proof we actually showed up. Not only did we show up but as usual, among all the other folks that showed up, we got our share of attention. The car ran great with about 5 hours on the track over two days with both of us sharing opportunities and ride alongs with each other. We also got an additional 5 or so hours of ride along with our repsective students in their cars. VIR is a great track.

As for performance, we hold our own in technical sections with almost anyone. As you can expect cars with significant more horsepower were able to get by us on the longer straightaways. Actually with Chin, it is an obligation to permit others to pass to keep the flow of traffic moving but even so, most of the guys who were able to get the pass had superior horsepower.

Love the paint job.... What paint did you use ? It looks like a blue version of Squerly's green GTS.

Hi Jim, g8rbob and I are signed up for the Chin event at Sebring 8-24. I would like to do Barber, though I am planning a trip with my Mom in that time frame.
I was hoping this tread would be a place for all of us to anounce our track day plans. In that spirit, GTS#25, start a thread on the paint job and I'll give you all the info. G;-)

I was trying to get to Barber but it won't work out timing-wise. A few of us are planning to go to Sebring on Sept 13th with SAFE. Also, NASA is running at the new facility in Starke on Nov 15 / 16. Right now I am planning to go to Road Atlanta on Nov 29 / 30. Maybe Moroso with SAFE on October 25th.

G8rbob and I will be at Sebring with Chin Motorsports on 8-23-08. Anyone else planning to be there? G;-)

G8rbob and I are on our way to CMP next Thursday and will be on site Friday - Sunday. From the looks of the registration - there will be THREE of us there. We're the Royal Blue "99". We are registered at the Colony Inn beginning - probably late - Thurs evening.
I am thinking that Roebling and VIR Chin events would be great, too. We'll see G;-)

VIR Full Nov 1/2 I will be instructing with CHIN.

My father and I will be at Synergy weekend after next.

I've noticed that the edit button isn't working. You can put your cursor on the button and right click then "open in new window" or "copy link" and paste into a new browser window. That will make it go to the edit screen. I say stupid stuff all the time so I always need it. :loser:

Well how about the panoz's go to events that have WW and HPDE so we can go too? in florida its PBOC, NASA, FARA, who did I miss? We could have a cheerleading squad...my 6 year old daughter will work on some moves for the "DE SQUAD"....hehehe

If your thinking about Sebring in late Dec. you should consider going for PBOC Winterfest in early Jan. There are tons of pros and cars testing from all over the contry etc. I have found this is the biggest ametuer race we have ever attended. Everyone come to R A. If we could get the cars that are close and all of y'all we could have as many as 10, maybe 12. I was at R A today fpr a Porsche Club weekend and they were 2 Panoz there today. I am doing the NASA event next weekend and I would like for everyone to make a weekend plan all try to get there. I would like to see it convient for all but that may not happen.

I will be a R A with CHIN the end of Aug.

i might be interested in hiking down to RA for the Chin event.

I plan on doing every event I can at R A. I also want to go to VIR, Daytona, Robling Road, Sebring and possibly Barber. R A is in my backyard, just 20 minutes away. I wouldlove to show everyone that we(Panoz owners) really have a great car and have more than just one or two at the track in the same weekend.

Yes, I will finally get it to the track. It is cheaper to get it on the track that keep it in Gary's shop, because I can't control my ebay habits. At some point and time you have to stop bolting things on the car and actually drive it.

How about CMP in two week with Tringle-Z. CMP would be a better place to start your Panoz career. No walls.

Roebling may be the best place for a southeast Panoz get together. It seems that most of the folks on this site are from the southeast. 6 to 8 in Florida and the same from Georgia and North Carolina. We could have a good number at a Roebling event. Could be fun.

I went to Roebling to watch only. It looks like it could be as fun to run as any that I have seen either in person on on the computer. Althought I must say I watched some of Watkins Glen yesturday and man that looks like it would be fun too but man what a ride from GA.

i have never been to roebling but I heard it is not the best for racing. Its like moroso was/is...at least that is what I have heard.

I did not run it but looked around at the whole track and it has a lot of run off room with nothing to hit. I think it would be a good place to push the envelope and not mess up the car real bad. It's atleast 5 hrs for me from Gainesville, GA. but I would like to make the trip someday.

I have run Roebling Road before in my 06 Cobra, but I can't swing those dates. It is a very fun track so if you can go DO IT.

I just finished skip barber school at R A, so I am aware of the walls. They can be daunting.

Yes. I did spend much time with Cassey. But did with Bill Boye and Shawn Israel. I really enjoyed Bill. Great guy. Was he working with you on the Friday after Memorial Day...he had mentioned that he would be working with a Panoz car/driver on that day.

Yes, that is me. Bill is truely a great guy. We have developed a great friendship and he is just a blast to be around. He has the greatest dry sece of humor I have every seen. I don't know if you know it or not but he was a great road racer back in his time. Y ou should hear some of his tales.

We all got to hear some of them. He was very fun to be with. He actually was my instructor on the skid pad. I enjoyed him very much. :rofl:

That is cool. He was just being nice...he posted himself at turn 7 alot and I only felt like I got it right about 25% of the time. Never spun it, just left a lot of speed on the track.

David, do you know if Chin honors others D L? I have HSR and NASA. I to plan on running the Chin events if they will let me.

Yes they do honer other HPDE experince. They may want you to do a check off ride. Best thing to do is call or email Mark Hicks and ask.

i will be at the track @ 7pm, we will be grilling out at the track, look for the big RV, we'll try to park near you guys if possible. feel free to come by and have a drink and hang out.

Hey everybody, been busy and have not been on the Forum lately. I plan on racing the SCCA event at R A on the 17th and 18th of July and the HSR event on 8-22nd and 23rd and the CHIN event but not sure what the dates are for that. Would love to see a lot of Panoz at the track if possible. I also want to make VIR, Daytona, Robling Road and Barber, hope to make Sebring and possibly Homestead but not sure about that. :cool:

Pomroy and I will be at Homestead with Chin on 7/18. I think we are planning on going to Road Atlanta with Chin in November as well.

I just signed up for RA with Chin for the end of August. I see Jim and Tom signed up as well. How else is coming?

Hey, Squerly wouldn't miss an event at Road Atlanta! :) BTW, Peachstate PCA is putting on an event at Road Atlanta on August 15-16. Last time I looked there was a little room left. Tracy (alfordvette) and I will be the only two Panoz there and it would be nice to see a little more representation!

Also be nice if Eric would send me my graphics so I could sport my new look... :sarcasm1:
