96 LX 4 cyl.... After sitting for about 2 months this car now has no power at all!.
The battery is good, even tried to jump it and still no luck. No lights work and even the chime that reminds you that the keys are in the ignition does not work. The 4 way flashers and horn are the only things that work, nothing else. The 50 amp ignition relay checks out ok. Any Suggestions!!

It is a guess unless you have meter to check voltages. You need to check the voltages at the battery with everything off. Then check voltage at the same point lights on/horn etc. I would suspect a bad battery.

Voltage at the battery is 12.9... same at the fuse block. Also I tried using another battery and got the same result.
Could the computor have "locked out" the ignition and needs to be reset?
I read something about this possibility at another site but it was unclear aboiut what to do.
Why do just the flashers and horn work...strange!

What is the voltage on the battery terminals when you push the horn? Check all fuses in the underhood fuse box and passenger compartment fuse box.

Found the problem...a blown 80 amp fuse for the battery! Strangely, the horn and 4way flashers still worked, must be wired differently for safety reasons. Smart idea!

Interesting. That 80 Amp fuse usually only goes when the alternator has shorted diodes or there is a major short in the fuse box. I would really try to find why it blew before I had confidenence in the car.
