2003 Trailblazer EXT Clicking problems

I have this annoying metallic clicking sound coming from my engine while it is running. It sounds like it is coming from the alternator/compressor area. It does not change as the engine rpm changes. What could it be?

The dealership said that because it is intermittent, they would have to keep the truck for a week to run tests on it. What do you all think?

Find a better dealer or a good repair shop.

You might pull belt and spin stuff by hand and see if ti=ou can spot clicking.
Also check belt real close or rock chips and hard spots.

they all click mine does it too especially when sitting at a stop i took mine to the dealer and they replaced the fan and fan clutch but they all have that ticking sound
