Wipers blowing fuses

Hey everyone, I have a feeling I know the answer to this already, but I thought I'd run it by you guys to see if there's anything I can do to fix this myself...
A couple weeks ago my wipers stopped working on my 97 Grand Marquis, I didn't think much of it at first, but then I went through a couple fuses and realized that it's got to more involved than just a fuse replacement issue. I'm starting to think it's the wiper motor, because when I put a new fuse in, it doesn't blow, but as soon as I turn the wipers on they come up a quarter of the way and the fuse blows.
Any helpful hints on a quick (and hopefully cheap) remedy?

I think you are right on the wiper motor. It is not a hard job to do. Don't know the price of part though. I buy all parts at government price. Lots cheaper usually. Good luck.
