Does anyone know how to recover front and back seats from a 98 civic. I want to redo them in black and silver vinyl but I want it to look like it came from the factory. By this I mean I done want it to just be a flat seat cover, I want the stitching to mold to the seat. Does anyone know how to do this?

If you have never done it, I would reccomend paying someone to do it. You might end up screwing it up more than anything :D

I plan on taking as long as I need to get it exactly right. Im not gonna rush through anything or cut corners. I have seen that site before but I forgot the address. Does anyone know what "plastic tensioners" are and how they cling the vinyl to the seat?

Upholestry really isn't that hard it just takes practice and patience, I've been doing it for about 5 years now and I like it a lot. I'm not sure what you mean by plastic tentioners though. Anyway basically just take apart the seat and turn it inside out and mark all the different pieces so you'll know how they go together "DON'T TAKE BOTH THE SEATS APART AT THE SAME TIME!!!" Always leave one together so you can look it if you have to. Its really hard to explain how to do everything by writing, it would probably take me 2 pages but if your somewhat creative and know a little about how to use a sewing maching you'll do fine. I posted a pic of my car in the exterior body section and you can see the seats, that was my first custom Upholestry job and I did everything myself. I don't like the colors I used, it sounded a lot better before I actually put them together but I still don't think they look that bad. But I don't have them anymore I got new seats now and I'm reupholestering them biege with light brown flames. I'll post pics when I'm done, you do the same, good luck
