very nice!
Illustrator?
please continue to post the steps. I see you create each shape that will be filled later. Do you do a silohette (sp?) first?...actually doesn't look like it.
Maybe if you wrote a little about what we're seein, I'd be able to ask my question properly. :)
regardless...very nice work

I use Flash to draw the lines and add color. I'm still not used of doing lines in vectors, i just like the simple way that Flash does it...anyhow. I draw the body of the car, then I draw the wheels in a different color so it's easier to modify afterwards. I put the hand drawing in the background like most of us and trace over it. For this one, I might try something different, I'm seeing you guys with your flashy colors and all and it makes me want to push harder. I think thats why im drawing almost daily..haha ! So, i'll try adding the base colors with flash, then fix the shadows with photoshop, see how things go. if it's nice, i'll try it with the Impala. If you have more questions Lemorris let me know.

Flash Developer is my day job so I'm very familiar.
You can export your finished linework as an Illustrator 4 or eps file and then open that with photoshop and do all your rendering there if you want.
I like rendering in spot color channels but that's largely because my stuff goes on shirts and channels are a great way to create films for screenprinting. The same stuff I do can be done in layers too...it's just personal preference like everything is.
Are you using the pen tool in Flash or tweaking lines?

Lemorris : I'm just tweaking the lines. That's the only way I knew how to draw them, until i came onto this site and it seems all to be done with the pen tool..which, I try to do, but it's not too easy to get the desired form/line. I'd have to practice. I've also tried to color with photoshop, using the brush to get shadowing and what not..this with the bucket to fill, but...OMG, it looks like crap. haha, I dont know how you get them so nice and clean...
Blip : Thanks, I'll try working a bit with the brush tool in photoshop..but I think I might not be too good, we'll see what happens.

alright, so this is a little teaser until I finish it tomorrow. I've done the base coloring with flash, added a couple of gradient with the bucket tool ( i.e the seat and window ) then I imported the picture into Photoshop.. Fiddle a bit with it to give me a feeling of the brush tool, and this is what I came up with.
Thanks in advance for your comments .
