What is the best fluid to use in a clutch line? There are several different kinds of fluid but i want to know which kind is the best to use. I found these on Extremepsi.com. The reason I'm asking is because I reinstalled my slave cylinder after thinking it was bad and I just bleed the heck out of my clutch and everything seems fine now. I asked a very knowledgeable dsmer and he told me that the reason that I lost all pressure in my lines was because of air getting in them that was caused by the fluid boiling. So I would like to prevent this from happening if possible but I don't know what kind of fluid to get. Any suggestions?

The only way I can see air getting in the line is if you do in fact have a leak and the resivoir going dry. Regardless, having air in the lines shouldnt cause it to boil I dont think, but the air itself is compressible, which is why you didnt have pressure. Check the lines and make sure the slave cylinder isnt bad, and be sure to keep an eye on the fluid level. As far as fluid, I think any of them should be fine.

You cant boil your clutch fluid. You cant create enough heat to boil it. There is some other problem going on here. What were you doing when the car lost pressure?

I noticed that when I drove the shit out of the car the clutch pedal between shifts would feel like there wasn't much resistance. It felt like the resivoir was empty, I had that happen in my Talon back in the day and if felt just like that. I didn't try bleeding the line till after I pulled the slave cylinder off and then I reinstalled it almost a month later. I checked the Slave cylinder for a leaky plunger but it looked fine. I'm repeating what I was told.
