heater stuck on

the heater is stuck on in my 03 alero 2.2 ...not the fan .but the dial that turns from hot to cold...you can turn it but it doesent do anything...

Relay? That is a strange problem! My fog lights were stuck on and it was just a realy with corrosion on the contacts! Ya never know!

Easy fix!
The plastic in the back of the knob has cracked and allows rotation without actually moving the control. Pull it straight out and swap one of the other climate knobs to change the heat. Get a new one at a Buick/Chevy dealer. Cost about $6. I've had to do this a couple of times. You also might be able to repair it by using some super glue and a couple of toothpicks. I did that one time.

lol thats the first thing i checked....but thats not the prob...this sucks we are well into summer and its frickin hot in this car i have to have the windows down all the time and if its raining i chose between getting wet or burning up

I am having all most the same problem but when i turm my heater off you can still feel the heat not a strong heat but enuff to know that the heat is on

I tried what spartanfool said to do and it worked for my hot to cold knob but still have the same problem with just a little air comming out of the vents not a big deal thanks
