Hi all,
My 92 Continental's engine was blown out on the highway a year ago! I left it on driveway since then. Last week, I had a newly-rebuilt engine put in. The transmission was rebuilt around 10K miles before the engine died.
Now, it is hard to crank up, I have to give more gas. When it gets up, it stays up and would not die. However, the whole car is shaky like it lacks O2. Autozone and Advance Auto Part say that it may be one of the following:
1.The EGR valve
2. EGR sensor
3. Mass O2 flow sensor
I changed the fuel filter first since it has sit for a year, but it would not solve the problem. Then I changed all the above recommended parts, one by one, but the problem is still there.
Also, it says "Check Engine" and "Charge System". Before the engine died, the same message showed up, but I did not do anything. Now the same message shows up!
Any idea to help is really appreciated. In case you want to help faster, this is my email: nht.huynh@gmail.com

Try the idle air control valve. Take it out, clean it out with WD40 and a toothbrush. That cured my '96.
