Megane Card Key Reader Problems!

I have a Megane II with the card keys. It is now struggling to start and the display states it cannot detect the card key. Have tried a different key but no joy. It is intermittent as sometimes it will start, it took 30 mins to get it started yesterday!! Does anyone have an idea as the local dealer doesn't know whats wrong with it!?

could be a couple of things ,worn card reader[£68.17p] or card,[£60.00], but needs programming-£90.00]. failing this theres not much else[reason why is. i have problem with my scenic 2 04 plate,i have to put card in at an angle in reader which is dangling down ,but tie strapped to ensure safe reading and secure card whilst moving,but it works. got new reader then fitted it but found would not pick up card.so old reader back in and works ok.the card rattles so i think the cards sensor is out of position,hence doesnt pick up with new reader good luck!!!! rich may know [hull]
