98 Olds 88 Ls- Console Shifter

I have a steering wheel shifter but prefer the floor shifter and storage pockets seen on the higher option packages. I have access to a 98 Olds 88 LS simillar to my car at a local junkyard and seeing the floor shifter on it begged me to ask if I could change over.

I think that if I cut the floor to fit the floor shifter and followed up with the cabling and linkage I should be able to connect to the transmission just fine.

This question is really more of a theoretical approach. I would likely not do it unless it boilled down to just cutting a hole 'bolting it on'.

I may not consider this. I realize that the seat configuration is very different and would require a swap. My seats are very nice and even through a junk yard new ones are pricey. Too bad, I could have had some nice pics.
