I am doing an engine swap froma 4g64 to a 4g64 but the one i have atm is a manual and the engine im getting is from an automatic. Now the guy im getting it from told me that the cams would be diffrent or that they are diffrent and that i should swap the cam from my engine to the new one. But didnt tell me why they are diffrent:eek7: and i was just woundering if anyone knew what would happen if i didnt swap them or what the diffrences are between them:confused:

AFAIK the guys a wacko.
the only diff is the flex plate being switched out with a flywheel and all the other usual auto to stick swaps.

should be a direct drop in, no issues to worry about besides pulling the flexplate. There are no 5 speed to auto swap issues or vice versa, the engines are EXACTLY the same, the cams are NOT different.

Just fyi; you can also drop a 3.5 engine in place of your stock one. It's actually one of the sticky notes on the top of this forum.

he has a 4cyl, the 3.5l engine does not "drop" into the 4 cyl cars, only the v6's
