Me and my friend are working on a 1990 Eclipse GST, and we have a few questions. This is the first time eather of us has worked on a Turbo car. We got it started today, and minus missing an oil plug on the side of the block it runs. But after posting some pictures on DSM Tuner, and having some ppl tell use we ran our oil line wrong. I wanted to ask you guys. (since i no you guys better)

http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/9873/pic1mh9.jpg sorry for the crappy picture, but in the bottom right is where we have it ran, down to the oil pan. Here is how Kittay has hers ran.

Are is almost the same setup, but some ppl are telling us its wrong. Help us out.

Also I didn't notice it till now, but the oil line we got the adpater that goes into the oil pan is about the size of a pin. So we are going to drill the hole bigger (since all the oil lines Iv seen are as big as the hose)

Well, seeing as how its an oil cooled turbo, it needs more oil and better pressure, niether of which can be supplied by the stock location on the head. I assume the oil feed line on there now goes from the oil filter housing to the turbo correct? That is just what you should be doing, just make sure you cap off that stock spot on the head. I'd just stick the stock banjo bolt in there with a copper washer and tighten her down. I have also heard of people closing them off with the banjo bolt and using JB Weld to seal/lock the threads but I wouldnt suggest this as it will be permanent. Maybe there is some sort of thread locker that might help?

So you suggest using the one from the side of the block instead of where we have it now?

We figured out what we where doing wrong. There is an inlet and an outlet (I no you guys no that, but we didn't....till today lol) We ran or outlet from under the turbo to the oil pan, and the inlet from the top of the turbo to the plug right next to the oil filter (thats how my friend has his turbo awd setup). We will have pictures up tomorrow.
