Now why would someone choose to get a Civic? Dont really understand. Only think i could think is that there are so many aftermarket parts and its cheap. Yes they are cheap.
Insurance is cheap for us younger people (17) compared to a "sports car."
You save lots of money on good gas mileage and they have excellant reliability.:bandit:

i think the reason that civics became so popular is purely cuz they're cheap and there is a ton of mods you can do. if you are one of the few kidz that know something about engine mods you can also make one of them fast as hell. however now every kid that shops at abercrombie and fitch owns a dx civic with clear taillights and vtec stickers so i say go for the 240sx

Why do you care what other people think about what you drive? Is your status that important?

You should drive what you want to drive. If you are looking for a car to buy, I sugest sitting down and writing out what you want to accomplish with your car. Then, write up your budget, and see which car you can work with.

Exactly... If you want/dont want a car just because people like it/dont like it, thats just dumb. Get something you like. Test drive a bunch of different cars and see what you like the best. All cars feel different, even 2 of the same model civics can feel just choose the one you like most. A honda is a good dependable car.. Look at consumer reviews, etc. before you buy a car see what your getting yourself into it can save you alot of time and trouble down the road.

I would have to say though, Honda cars are not that great for modding because they always have less torque than they do HP. I would have to pick an Acura over a Honda anyday.

Since your new Ill be gentle with you..

First of all... Acura is honda.. Its american honda...
Secondly most small motor (esp FWD) cars make more HP then they do Torque.. But to say moding a car isnt going to help anything is wrong. It usually is an detailed upgrade but can be taken care of with some sort of Forced Induction, or good All motor build.

Yes, I know that Acura is the American division of Honda, but they do have different cars from Honda e.g. The NSX.

The comment I made more HP than torque, you are right in saying that the majority of four bangers and a lot of sic cylinder cars put out more horse than torque. But I prefer to find cars that do, I was more or less just stating my preference, is should have been more clear. I for instance have a 1989 LeBaron GTC Turbo that is at 210 HP and 240 Torque. Originally it had 175HP and 210 Torque. Thus I picked that to mod rather than a lot of other cars. Because it is simple to increase your HP but it is hard to bring the torque up beyond the HP.

Very True.. Its alot easier to mod a car witha turbo then one without a turbo.. The great thing about the civic is there are so many turbo kits available that the hardest part about making it faster is deciding which kit you want to purchase..

The thing about the Lebaron is its probably alot harder to find aftermarket parts then it is to find them for a civic. Escpecially cams, pistons, etc.. Im not saying you cant find them or they dont make them, they just arent as plentiful and as easy to get.

 It's true, it's all true. :D

Ya' they are considerably harder to find, but my car isn't a me too car. So I guess it made it worth the trouble for me.

yes... having a popular car has its advantages and disadvantes but most of the time its worth it.. If you need a part.. You can find it fast.. If you have a problem its easy to find someone that has had the same problem and knows how to fix it, not to mention its easier to find used stuff cheaper too.. :D
