I have another question concerning my transmission. My hayes manuel tells me that I need dexron ll transmission fluid. Is this normal? I would think that it needs a mopar type fluid. This is an 89 dodge aries, w/2.2L and the transmission is 424-18-A. I beleive that is the number for this one.

A bit late to reply but you can find the info in many different places...
Owner's manual
Haynes repair manual
Auto parts store
Transmission fluid dipstick (on the handle or inscribed on the stick itself)
Know that if it is asking for Dexron II, today's Dexron III/Mercon will work just as well. Hope this helps!

Use the recomended Mopar fluid and you do not have to go to the dealer anymore for it.Your nearest Carquest parts store sells it for $4.00 a quart
