Headlights stay on??

I have a 92 3000GT SL. My headlights come on everytime I start the car, like day-time running lights, even though they are in the off/down position. Also, this may or may not be related, my battery is being drained. Has anyone had this problem or have any suggestions on what the problem might be? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

certainly sounds like it may be related. How quickly will the battery go dead? does it only go dead if you dont drive it for x days?

do the lights stay popped up when you turn the ignition off or do they retract? Also, do the interior lights (gauge lights) come on as well?

In my experience the lights stay popped up even when the ignition is turned off. You have to manually switch the lights off and then they pop down.

If your lights are automatically popping up when you turn the car on, somehow the wiring got messed up. Have you had recent work done on the electrical system?

The battery goes dead in about 2-3 days.

No the pop-up function operates completely normal, and the interior lights do not come on; they, too, are functioning normal.

I do not have a wiring diagram or anything, but I was wondering if there was a relay that might be stuck in the closed position or something like that. Its been confusing me for about 4 years now. I haven't had the problem because I drove it work every day. However, the gas price BS has forced me to drive her less and now the problem has resurfaced.

This is not the case. When I turn the car on, the headlights turn on and remain retracted. Only when I turn the dial on the turn signal or push the pop-up button do the lights pop up. Basically everything functions normally, but the lights are on. No I have not had any work done, she was in this condition when I purchased her about four years ago(she only had 65,000 miles on her). This just recently started to annoy me because I do not drive her everyday, like I used to. I have been disconnecting the battery in between drives.

thats pretty strange. maybe the previous owner wired them like that trying to do the snake-eye mod? I guess i would start by looking over the wires near/under the fuse box. Those are probably the easiest wires to modify if someone were to do that intentionally.

disconnecting the battery and and hooking it back up to often can surge your electrical there prob is a relay stuck on, if they stay up all the time
