A couple electrical problems 99 century

Number one the only window controll that works in my 99 buick is the driver's so any time any one needs a window down they gotta ask, I mean the power is great but gets annoying on a long drive with a couple smokers.

I am also having a problem with the speed controll for the blower motor. I read a post about a 2002 having this kind of problem and it was said to be a resistor under the blower motor. Is this the same on a 99?

Thanks any help would be cool.

On the windows the passenger windows get power from the driver's switch assembly.

If you have a manual climate control system and not the automatic ACC - then you have a blower motor resistor just like the 2002 model.

Did you ever find out how to fix the window problem? My 98 does the same thing, the windows only work thru the master swtich. I have replaced the master but it is the same

Also if you have not done it yet, your resitor is bad, I just replaced mine becuase only the faster fan speeds worked. I was told it is pretty common on these

Do either of you have any other strange electrical gremlins (DIC flashes, IP cluster lights out, etc...?) If so, you could have a bad ignition switch. The contacts in the switch get weak with age and start arcing, causing all kinds of electrical anomalies associated with ignition controlled circuits (including losing low speeds on the blower motor, although the resistor is a common issue as twzx12r stated). The only other thing besides the switch that I can think of is a broken wire leading from the master switch to the other switches. That would explain why only the master switch will operate the windows.

One last thing I just thought of, you're not having a brain fart moment and have the window lock button on the master switch pressed in do you?

No gremlins, I will look for a broken wire from the master. Thanks
