98 Z71 No acceleration when pedal to floor

I have a 98 Z71 and when accelerating in normal conditions all is great but when I press pedal to the floor in a passing situation , RPM's go to 3000 but truck barely accelerates . Changed fuel filter, air filter to no avail . Also no codes showing.

Any ideas ?

I have seen fuel pumps do this. Get a fuel pressure gauge on it. Can't remember the spec on the vortecs off hand but if it starts and runs pressure should be ok under those situations. Just may not be able to supply the volume it needs under high load conditions. I saw an 02 suburban do that the other day.

Fuel pump is my guess. My '98 K1500 did same thing. It was fuel pump.

It was the fuel pump , I replaced it and it runs great !
