Regal LS is hesitating

Hi. I'm new to the forum.

I have a 2001 Regal LS that hesitates. If the car is on and in drive it will idle fine but after 5 or so minutes it will starts idling higher (if that makes sense) then not long after that it will die. It is fine in neutral though. It of course hesitates in drive but it seems like if I drive it on the high way for a good hour or so it will stop hesitating but as soon as I have to stop it will start hesitating and/or eventually die if I don't put it in neutral.

I have changed the fuel filter, plugs and wires, and the air filter. Some one mentione the oxygen sensor?

Any suggestions would be greatly appericated.

Check your fuel pressure. Check your fuel pump.
